Hi! I’m Jessica.
I have a longstanding passion for helping others in all sorts of walks of life, and I’m so excited to continue to do just that as a future Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
My journey to helping others know themselves, overcome their obstacles and reach their goals started when I earned a bachelors in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. From there, I went on to spend over a decade working in nonprofit environments. That work allowed me to mentor and work with a variety of people, and I especially enjoyed my time spent with veterans. Recently, I began working with clients as a certified professional life coach, and I’m currently obtaining a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in trauma and child therapy from Abilene Christian University.
When I sit down with someone who is facing mental health challenges or unresolved trauma, it is my joy to meet them exactly where they are with compassion and empathy. I truly enjoy walking with them and giving them the tools they need to approach their specific obstacles with an attitude of curiosity; I’ve seen how, when we work together with an open mind, real change is possible. As a Marriage and Family Intern, I will work closely with Rebekah to provide this level of care in every client session. I am excited to be a part of the Renew team, and look forward to offering sessions for both in-person and Telehealth clients under their guidance.
When I’m not completing coursework or seeing clients, I enjoy reading, writing and spending time outdoors. You can often find me wondering through a park with a camera in hand, as photographing nature is one of my favorite ways to decompress. I also find much delight in spending time with my two sons, and we currently reside in the Louisville area.
