Hi! I’m Jenna.
Growing up, I always loved studying people; figuring out what made them think they way they did. And I was always the peacemaker in my group of friends, able to weigh situations and find the good. It wasn’t until I was on my own search for purpose that I would realize all of this had prepared me for a future as a therapist.
As a college student, I once heard someone say that counselors are mediators between darkness and light. From that point on, I knew I wanted to pursue a future in counseling; in walking with people through their darkest moments, as a source of compassion, hope and light.
As I worked toward the goal of becoming a licensed therapist, I also spent some time as an intern at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, an experience that profoundly impacted my own life, and my approach to caring for and ministering to those who sit across from me during a session. During my time at Southeast, I helped lead workshops to equip the church in matters of mental health, and cared for hurting and broken families and individuals in a number of ways, always under the mentorship of incredible providers who invested in me. From them, I saw how, because of Jesus, I can confidently help people see how they can re-author their family’s narrative for generations to come.
My time at Southeast also brought with it another blessing: My husband, Justin. We were married in 2021, and moved to Campbellsville so that Justin could accept a preaching minister position and I could finish my coursework to obtain a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Campbellsville University.
As I worked to earn that degree, I was connected to Renew Counseling and its founder, Rebekah. It was immediately clear that our philosophies for counseling were alined, and she has been such a generous mentor and friend ever since. I’m so honored to work with her in serving our clients every day.
Fun fact: Need a yummy latte or a thrifted outfit? I’m your girl! When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me making drinks behind the bar at Harden Coffee, or scouring thrift store racks for the best deal and vintage treasures.
